After the success reached in Misano, Massimo Abbati scored another win last weekend in Vallelunga, the second in this season, trying to close the gap in the overall standings: the highest step of the podium for the 2023 Lotus Cup Italy champion arrived in Race 2, a sort of revenge after the bad luck suffered in the first race that forced him to raise the white flag early (two laps from the end due to a puncture) after he conquered the Super Pole and was flying towards a final result on the podium. The success therefore went to Alberto Naska, even more leader also thanks to the difficult weekend of Maurizio Copetti, who left Vallelunga with only 10 points (in an event that had a coefficient of 1.5 for race scores). Completing the podium of Race 1 were Emanuele Romani (winner among the Hankook Trophy drivers) and Marco Gianesini (first among the Masters). In Race 2, Alberto Naska and Francesco Gebbia (winner among the Masters and Lotus Gold Cup drivers) finished behind Abbati. Gianalberto Coldani had a very positive weekend, fighting for the Top 5 while Roberto Agostini and Pietro Aiello also earned important points for the standings in both races.
In the overall standings Alberto Naska rises to 240.5 points, 80.5 more than Copetti while Abbati occupies the third provisional position with 118.5 points.
The next appointment for the national Lotus Cars series is on the weekend of 18-20 October at Mugello.
