Lotus PB Racing closed the 2021 motorsport season on a high note with the excellent result achieved at the 2 Hours of Magione. In the classic “endo of the year” endurance race organized by the Gruppo Peroni Race, the italian team lined up two Lotus Elise Cup PB-Rs with Maurizio Fortina-Fabio Radice and Vito Utzieri-Alberto Grisi.
After the positive feedback from free and official practices (where the two Elises monopolized the third row on the over 20 cars entered), both cars shown excellent pace and perfect strategy in the race, thanks also to the work done by PB Racing engineers and mechanics who perfectly assisted the pit-stops, as well as the tyre management carried out by all drivers which allowed them to complete the 2 Hours without any change,
Under the checkered flag, the Fortina-Radice duo got the 2nd place overall, finishing just 35″ behind the winning car of Alborghetti-Bamonte (Honda Civic TCR – MM Motorsport); Utzieri-Grisi finished fourth, authors of a regular race but not enough to jump on the overall podium, however, conquering the second place in the Lotus Cup class in front of the Elise lined up by Cipriani Motorsport (driven by Matteo Deflorian and Stefano Zerbi, also very competitive but stopped a few minutes from the end due to a brake issue).
For PB Racing, the focus now shifts on the Lotus Exige Cup PB-R, which has been on the spotlight of numerous changes and updates for the next 12 Hours of Mugello 2022, scheduled on 25-27 March.
